Asciano

The town of Asciano is included within the Crete Senesi in the province of Siena. The western and southern territory of Asciano is characterized by the presence of biancane and gullies, which form a landscape of great charm, known since the Middle Ages with the name of Desert Anccona. Among the main places of tourist interest are also the Etruscan Museum, which preserved artefacts found in Etruscan necropolis of Poggio Pinci. Other archaeological area in the territory, is the mound of Molinello which takes its name from the farm where it is located.
